The colonial west invaded whole continents, stealing mineral wealth and natural resources, forced them to abandon subsistence farming to plant commercial crops for Western profit, introduced deadly diseases, slaughtered dissidents who objected to colonial rule, raped women, stole children, selected the strongest for slavery and sent them overseas, bribed the weak to take positions of authority and created puppet governments to please the western masters, disrupted traditional balances by drawing up new borders and carving up continents to divide amongst the colonial invaders like a game of monopoly. And now the products of these crimes against humanity are fleeing the chaos we created, we refuse them asylum and lock them in detention centres where they remain in limbo indefinitely. A comedian summed it up perfectly: Britain complains that the immigrants don’t integrate, stick to their own language, insist on their own foods and religions. He said ‘How British is that!’
